About
Us
The Advisory Committee on Vaccines is composed by a
panel of experts in the field of
immunizations and vaccine-preventable diseases from the Spanish
Association of Pediatrics.
The overall goal of the Committee is to provide advice
to pediatricians, nurses, parents and other health professionals in
relation to the use of vaccines and other related biological products in
children and adolescents.
Yearly,
the Committee publishes the
recommended
routine vaccination schedule for children
and adolescents, including comments on
the latest advances in immunization
practices.
Also, the Committee periodically updates other
recommendations regarding advances in aspects such as influenza vaccines,
other new vaccines, adverse reactions, etc.
These yearly recommendations are published both in “Anales
de Pediatria” official journal of the Spanish Association of
Pediatrics, as in the Committee website (www.vacunasaep.org).
Among other goals, in order to improve Pediatrician’s
knowledge in the field of vaccines, every three or four years the
Committee publishes complete and practical updated Guidelines on
vaccines and immunization practices. This book is a very useful tool for
professionals working in Primary Care, Hospitals, and other public and
private Health Services.
Other activities include conferences, courses and
scientific meetings including professionals from other countries in
order to exchange information, opinions and advances in relation to this
field.
